How do I message another member privately?

Group posts and comments are seen by everyone in the group. If you want to talk to one member on their own, send a private message on the Network. Replying to a notification email does not reach them.

Sign in at https://network.unite.gay/.
Find the member. You can open their name or photo on a group post, or look them up in the Members directory at https://network.unite.gay/members.
On their profile, choose Message.
Write your message and send it. Your conversation stays on the Network.
When someone writes to you, we may email you that you have a new message. Open the Network to read it and reply there.

On a phone, this works in the browser at https://network.unite.gay/ and in the Android app. On iPhone, use Safari or another current browser. There is no iPhone app at the moment.

A few tips to stay safe

Get to know someone on the Network before you share your phone number, WhatsApp or other apps.
Do not post your phone number in a group. Everyone in that group can see it.
